Du Mont Television Sets (commercial, 1949)

Why don't you pay attention? What are you doing over there? I'm just explaining a simple fact to Bowers, Mr. Delmar. What simple fact? Married in direct view electronic cathode, such as you find in our Dumont set, is possible to increase dimension without image disintegration or loss of just definition.

Well, it may be a fact, but it ain't simple. What do you mean for a professor is that a Dumont television setter hot stuff? He did? Certainly. After all, Dumont Pioneer is a big direct you to right in the start.

Dumont makes the kind of big tubes that mean not just bigger pictures but also brighter sharper pictures. You see what I mean? Hot stuff. Yeah, mmm. Of course, Mr. Delmont. After all, Dumont, uh, Dumont, uh, pioneered these, uh, direct-in tubes, you know?

You see what I mean from first time? Both parts. Yes, yes. Even today, only Dumont makes a giant 20-inch tube, 213 square inches of picture. That's four times as large as the picture you get on most of today's television set.

Yeah, you understand? No, they don't have to have a little brain to understand. And you do have a little brain, don't you? Oh, well, certainly, Bob. I certainly don't. No, no. I... I see. I see.

Mr. Delmont. Even today, I mean, Dumont television receivers all have FM radio as well as television. And that's another sign of Dumont quality. Well, that certainly is very sensational. I would make some remarks now, only I think the best thing we should do is to get back to class.

Yes, so go back to your seat boys. Now boys and girls.
