Good morning, friends. The House, during the week, by a roll call vote of 202-194, refused for the third time to approve and effect the Rummel Skipperier tax plan. The legislation now goes back to an un instructed conference committee.

Immediately after the vote was announced, Chairman Douton of the House Ways and Means Committee said, the rumble plan is dead. We have killed it. As long as Franklin Rose felt his president of the United States, it will stay dead.

The Nara de Lita Martin remarked, there is little for us to say, our bill has been turned down. It is up to the Democrats now to present a bill. While there is no official news yet from the Conference Committee, it is understood that there is a growing sentiment in that body in favor of a plan proposed originally by

Senator George, rejected by the Senate and never considered by the House, which would cancel 75% of the 1942 liability in a flat, horizontal cut, all taxpayers having their bills reduced by the same percentage and being allowed two years in which to pay the unforgiven 25%.
