Lady Esther presents the Screen Guild Players. The Screen Guild Player Tonight, Whistling and Dixie. The Starring Players.

This is Red Skullton. This is Claire Traver. And this is Virginia Gray. Tonight, Lady Esther presents the Screen Guild Players in Whistling and Dixie, starring Red Skullton as Wally Benton, Claire Traver as Carol Lambert, and Virginia Gray as L.M.A. Lee.

It's the story of the radio detective, the father. The Fox. The Fox is on the air! Whoa! There's a skunk in the audience. Well, that's Wally Batton, who was known to millions of radio listeners as The Fox.

A super-detective combining all the best features of Sherlock Holmes and Superman. His eagle eyes can detect a flea on a black cat in a dark room. His fox-like ears can pick up the sound of a feather falling in a pail of mud a block Don't forget the most important thing I can smell for miles.

And so his listeners believe him to be the greatest, bravest detective who ever lived. When Mrs. Hortense Fips lost her pearls in a bowl of tapioca, who found them? Who the fox? Who found a Republican in the state of Alabama?

Who the fox? Who found Heddie Lamar at the corner of Hollywood and Vine? That ain't no fox. That then was Wally Benton, the Fox. The radio detective, who was the hero of millions. On the night our story began, the Fox, I mean Wally, had just finished solving a horrible crime on his radio program

and was resting in his dressing room, when Carol Lambert, his fiancé, called for him. Oh Wally, you were wonderful tonight? I was? Oh, simply superb. The way you saw those mysteries on the radio is phenomenal.
