Snow White

Yes, this is Edgar Bergen's pay phone. Charlie McCarthy listening, yeah. Who? Oh, you want to talk to Bergen? Yeah, I'll get him. Bergen is for you. Oh, thank you, Charlie. Thank you. Hello? Yes, this is Edgar Bergen.

Yes. Oh, just of course, yes. What's he saying? What's he saying? Why certainly? Well, I'd be glad to. Yes, indeed. Yes, thank you. Thank you. Goodbye. Who was it, Bergen? Well, you know, it was that Lady Esther Screen Guild players.

Oh, yes, yes, yes. And they're going to do Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on the radio. Yeah. And what do you think? Well, I give up. Yeah. You know the little 14-year-old Mary Jane Smith, who sings out at Metro Golden Mayor?

The charming girl, utterly charming. Yeah. Well, she's going to play and sing the role of Snow White. Isn't that nice? And that funny Charles Kemper is going to play one of the dwarves. Sneasy. Is that so, Elgazuntite?

No, no, no. And, uh, well, you know, you know, in Snow White, how the prince rides in on the White Horse? Yeah. Well, they want me for that. No, yeah. Well, what part of the horse are you going to play?

Oh, no. Oh, they want me to play the Prince. Oh, come now, Bergen, the manpower shortage is old, isn't it? Nevertheless, they've asked me to play the Prince. And if I do say so myself...

You're the only one who will. I look rather well in purple tights. You in tights? Yes. With those dunking five legs nowhere. And that's figure. What's wrong with my figure? Oh, nothing if you care for avocados.
