Good morning ladies and gentlemen. Tonight Lady Esther presents the Screen Guild Players and the Warner Brothers story, My Reputation, an absorbing study of a woman who faces and solves a great problem in her life.
It stars Alexis Smith as Jessica and Wayne Morris as Scott, the Lady Esther Screen Guild Players in My Reputation. Paul was dead. Dear wonderful Paul, whom I'd loved so much, was dead. I'd known that be a morning like this. I'd known for two years.
All through those months when Paula'd been so ill. Now all I had left were the boys. Gee, there's gonna be a small ball game today. Yeah, I wonder who's gonna pitch. The two boys with problems of their own.
And of course, mother with hers. Jessica, I'll arrange that all your summer things died. Naturally, you're going to wear black. Everyone seemed to have something to do, something to think of. Everyone but me. That morning for the first time I was alone.
And through the next two months it grew steadily worse. Extra empty hours each day. Sleepless lonely hours each night. But I made a pretense of keeping busy until the boys went east to school. That evening I returned to the house.
I closed the front door and the wave of terror settled all around me. I was frantic, almost hysterical I think. When I picked up the phone and put a call through to Jenna. Hello? Jenna.
Jenna, it's Jess. Can I come and see you now? I've got to. I can't stand it here alone. Let me stay with you tonight. Firecups. Thanks, Jenna. Thank you so much. Jenna, was it too dreadful I've made a phone to impose on you like this?
