and the 20th Century Fox Picture, the Oxbow Incident, based on the novel by Walter Van Tilburg Clark, a realistic and absorbing study of what goes on and the minds of men when they form themselves into a mob.

It stars Harry Davenport as Davies, Edward Arnold as Major Tetley, William I. as a son Gerald, and Jess Lee Brooks as the Rev. Sparks. The Lady Esther, Screen Guild Players, and the Oxbow Incident. I don't suppose many people remember it now.

It was back in 1885, you see. A small thing, not much. You might say, just an incident. The town looked almost deserted that day. A few wooden shacks of blazing sun, one dusty street, and nothing moving, except an old tired mongrel door.

Until that cow-hion came pounding down the road, pulled up his horse in front of Darby's saloon and yelled, Hey men! Where's everybody? Where are you men? The boys came piling out of the bar. And pretty soon, by the way they sounded, I could tell that something was wrong.

So I left my place, I ran the general store, you see, and went right over to find out. Darby was the one who told me, standing behind the bar, polishing glass. Someone got Larry concade last night.

They found him laying in a dry wash this morning. Dead? Shot right through the head. But who? Kincaid didn't have any enemies. Who'd do a thing like that? There's been a lot of cattle stolen this year.
