Irma's Brother Lectures ( #189)

created by Sigh Howard with Mary Ship is Kay and starring Marie Wilson as Irma. This philosopher once said, To air is human, to forgive divine. Well, I want you to meet the divinest person in the world, me, Kay Foster, because every hour on the hour I am forgiving my friend Irma.

Why do I say this? Well, take yesterday. Irma took my shoes to be fixed, and when she brought them back, I said, Irma, all I wanted was the heels fixed. You had them raised two inches, why?

And Irma said, Well, now that you're wearing your hair shorter, I thought you would want your heels higher so you couldn't be the same height. Yes, what is it, Irma? Are you thinking of baking a cake today?

No, I don't think so, why? I may want to stick my head in the oven and take gas. Oh, don't worry about me. You go right ahead and enjoy yourself. Now what's this all about?

Are you angry because I won't take you with me to my club meeting tonight? Yeah, and I want to know why you won't. Well honey, for one thing you wouldn't understand, the discussions. We of the 20th century philosophical society talk about Albert Einstein, Salvador Dali, William Shakespeare.

So what boiled down is like any other girls club, a bunch of women talking about fellas. Oh, forget it, Irma. Yeah, so I'm not good enough to associate with your friends. Not that at all.

Then I'm too stupid. I didn't say that. Oh, then you don't think I'm stupid. I didn't say that either. But, Justin, for instance, last week we discussed the topic, what is to be gained piercing the supersonic barrier?
