Making the Wedding List

Well, well, well, here's Mama Bloom's brood. Surin' closer comes Sarah's wedding day. Here she is in the Bloom living room with Mama, as Mama says.

Sally, I tell you, make out all these. I've made so many lists. Now I'm dizzy. Bell, make one more. What's the list this time? They'll, uh, they'll put down who we're going to send invitations to.

Let's start with the A's. Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel's F. Zeph doesn't start with an A more. I put them down anyhow, I'm afraid you'll forget them. And then they think, we gotta have her, they've entered her daughter's reception.

Huh? That was a spill reception. Fruit punch and that Italian ice cream spittoni. Pumunny mother. Pumunny. They think it must be very rich. The new house they're building has got for every bedroom or bathroom, just like a hotel.

They must be awful dirty people. There's a bedroom for every bedroom in all smart homes, smart, smart, you mean stylish. I mean, Mark. How can a house be smart? What can you do? Add up numbers, play the piano?

That's the word they use now, they. Yeah, that's the trouble here in America. There's too many voids. People keep talking half the time. The people they're talking to don't know what they're saying and the other half the time, they don't know what they're saying themselves.

People talk too much. Let's stick to the lid. Yeah. Now put down Grandma, narco, and I guess we have to send an invitation to your father's uncle like, will he come? Sure he'll come. We'll send him an invitation and Papa send him a clean shirt and he'll be the first one here.
