From Hollywood, the Hollywood Radio Theater. Starring Joseph Cotton and Theresa Wright in the steel trap. Ladies and gentlemen, your producer, Mr. Irving Cummings. Greetings from Hollywood, ladies and gentlemen. Whenever you've gone to a bank to deposit your paycheck, or withdraw extra funds, have you ever thought what a temptation it might be to hold thousands of dollars in your own two hands day after day?

In tonight's play, The Steel Trap, the temptation leads to a careful plan, a unique plan which requires perfect timing to succeed. And as our stars of this engrossing story, produced by Bert Friedlow by the 20th Century Box, we have Joseph Cotton and Theresa Wright recreating their original roles.

Now the Steel Trap, starring Joseph Cotton as Jim Osborne, and Theresa Wright as Laurie. I left the same house at approximately the same hour, every working day for over eleven years. I caught the same trolley car and the same rush.

I emerged at the same terminal and died to the same traffic, grounded the same corner, and entered the same bank. My name is James Osman. I started at the bank as an assistant teller now.

I'm assistant manager, and today I'm breaking in another assistant teller. In eleven years he'll probably be doing what I'm doing. Who knows? Anyway, I've just taken him downstairs to the vault. I hate to put you to all this trouble, Mr. Osborne. I know how busy you are.

Don't forget it now. There's one thing to remember. You can't get into this vault before 8 a.m. Time locker. Right. Now, this large safe here is for Mr. Bradley, the chief teller. Inside are six smaller saves, one for each assistant teller.
