From Hollywood, the Hollywood Radio Theater. From Heston and Joan Parntane, in the President's Lady. Ladies and gentlemen, your producer, Mr. Irving Cummings. Greetings from Hollywood, ladies and gentlemen.

Tonight's play is the President's Lady. It's based on the novel by Irving Stone, biographer of so many famous Americans. It's about Andrew Jackson. Andrew Jackson was one of our greatest presidents. But tonight in the President's Lady, we'll tell you the tender story of his deep love for his wife Rachel.

As Andrew Jackson, we have Charles and Heston. We're creating his role from the original 20th Century Fox production. And as Mrs. Jackson, one of Hollywood's loveliest stars, Joan Fontaine. The 1789 is the Tennessee Territory.

Not far from the settlement of Nashville is the Donaldson place. Where a few moments ago a stranger on horseback rode through the stockades. What do you want? I'm looking for the widow Donaldson. My mother isn't here.

My name is Andrew Jackson. I'm a friend of John Obitin. Oh, you're a new law partner. John said there's an empty room in the cabin you rent him, so I wrote out to see if you'd considered taking me to.

Well, there is an empty room, Mr. Jackson, but I'm not Mr. here. My mother won't be back until late this afternoon. I might even be of some use around here. I've had experience fighting Indians, and I'm a crack shot with a rifle.

Having those, we could use all the production we could get. Yet at the same time, I'm quiet and peaceful of it. Why don't you just take your saddlebags over to John's cabin and wait for my mother to get back.
