Lux presents Hollywood. Lever Brothers Company, the makers of Lux, Toilet Soaps, bring you the Lux Radio Theatre, starring Marina Hera, Richard Conte, and Veronica Lake in Slattery's Hurricane. Ladies and gentlemen, your producer, Mr. William Keeling.

Greetings from Hollywood, ladies and gentlemen. One of the most dangerous and adventurous assignments in the United States Navy is the hurricane service, in which fliers chart the course of threatening hurricanes to warn those in the path of the oncoming peril.

Our play tonight, Slattery's Hurricane, is the story of one flier's battle against the elemental storm in the sky and the emotional storm within himself. And as the stars of this exciting 20th century Fox drama, we bring you three accomplished players.

One of your loveliest favorites, Miss Marina Hara, the dynamic Richard Conte, and in her original role for Rocket of Veronica Lake. Besides being a favorite topic of conversation, the weather also has its effect on delicate skin.

Smart women protect their complexions with luck toilet soap. they know that in any weather, luck soap is a safe complexion care. Now, here's Act 1 of Slattery's Hurricanes, starring Richard Conte as Slattery, Marina Harra as Aggie, and Veronica Lake as Dolores.

They could describe a hurricane. It's one of nature's nightmares, a windstorm of great violence, often several hundred miles in diameter with a dead calm at the center called the eye. Every year from July to December, the Caribbean crawls with these evil offspring of the elements.

Usually the hurricanes waste themselves over the ocean. But several times in the generation, the protecting hand of God is withheld, and the hurricane heads toward shore and the homes of men. This is the story of such a hurricane, and of a man named Will Slattery.
