Lux presents Hollywood. Leave your brother's company, the makers of Lux Flakes, bring you the Lux Radio Theatre, starring Jean Crane, William Holden, and Edmund Gwen in apartment for Peggy. Ladies and gentlemen, your producer, Mr. William Keelen.
From Hollywood, ladies and gentlemen, I hope you will stay tuned to this station after the Lux Radio Theatre, To hear President Truman open the Red Cross campaign. But before that, we have a drama right off the front page.
It's a apartment for Peggy, a delightful romantic comedy of the war veterans who've gone back to school, and of their wives, lightly rearing babies in trailers with complete confidence in tomorrow's America. Faith Baldwin wrote the story, 20th Century Fox produced the picture, and our stars are the same trio who made the film one of the best-like comedies of recent months.
Gene Crane, William Holden, and Edmund Gwen. There are thousands of modern pioneers like the one Gene Crane plays tonight, and they're scattered on campuses from Maine to California. Like other home makers, they've discovered Lux Flakes.
And when they choose Lux Flakes for their households, they're making the right star. Now, a partner for Peggy and Act 1. Starring Jean Crane as Peggy, William Holden as Jason, and Edmund Gwen as Professor Barnes.
It's about 10 o'clock at night. And in a small Midwestern college town, Professor Edward Bell, Dean of the Law School as a visitor, his old friend Professor Barnes. Hope I'm not disturbing you, Edward. Well, I'm... no, no, Henry. Come on in.
Oh, you are busy, aren't you? It's this housing problem. Henry, it's a mess. All these veterans, most of them married, some of them with children. Where are they going to live? Well, I have a little problem too, Edward.
