Lux presents Hollywood. Leave your brother's company, the makers of Lux's toilet soap, bring you the Lux Radio Theatre, starring Jean Tierney and Cornell Wild in Leave Her to Heaven. Ladies and gentlemen, your producer Mr. William Keeley.
Greetings from Hollywood, ladies and gentlemen. Tonight you're here for the first time on the air, 20th Century Fox's powerful screenplay, Lever to heaven. More than 19 million people read Ben Aims William's book. Millions more have seen the motion picture, starring the glamorous Jean Tierney, who appears tonight as the over-possessive wife who stops at nothing in her desire to be loved as greatly as she loves.
Also from the original screencast, we have a star whose appearance has been requested in so many of your letters, Cornell Wild. In fact, you might call it the luck of the Irish that enables us to bring you this fine drama on St. Patrick's Day.
And speaking of St. Patrick's Day, we received the letter the other day from Mrs. Mabel Riley Finley, a veteran's bride who arrived here in California from her native Ireland just five months ago. She says, it's a long way from the River Shannon to Hollywood and Vine, but a pleasant change from the strong soaps I've been using to luxe toilet soap, which I discovered on
my first week in America. I not only use it for my complexion, but I put a cake of it in my bureau drawers as a sachet because I like the perfume. All our thanks to Mrs.
Finley and our sincerest wishes for a happy future in America. Here's tonight's play, Leave It to Heaven, starring Jean Tierney as Ellen Barrett and Cornell Wild as George Holland with Kay Christopher as Ruth. It's an early summer day.
