Lux presents Hollywood. Lux Radio Theatre brings you Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Baccault in To Have and Have Not. Ladies and gentlemen, your producer, Mr. William Kealey. Greetings from Hollywood, ladies and gentlemen.
We've had many premieres on the Lux Radio Theatre. And tonight on our 12th anniversary, we bring you one of Hollywood's most fascinating couples, Together for the first time on the air, they are Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, co-starred in Warner Brothers' thrilling screenplay, To Have and Have Not.
To Have and Have Not is a story of intrigue and action, with Lauren Bacall in the sultry and romantic role that won her instantaneous acclaim. To bring the Bogart family to rehearsals, we had to lure them from their brand new mountain home. Where, along with a dog, fourteen chickens and eight ducks, they are still in the process
of getting settled. No phone is yet, no tables and no drapes. But if you should drop in on a friendly visit of inspection, as I did, you'd find Lux flakes doing their part in washing, curtains, bed spreads, blankets, etc., etc., etc. When I commented on this fact, Bogey assured me that on his 54-foot yaw in Newport Harbor, which is the Bogart's home away from home,
Lux flakes are a standard part of the equipment, making this family loyal to Lux flakes on land and sea. It's curtain time and here's the first act of to have and have not, starting Humphrey Bogart as Harry Morgan and Lauren Bacall as Mary Browning.
