Lutz presents Hollywood. The Lutz Radio Theatre brings you George Brent, Olivia de Havilland, and John Payne in Wings of the Navy. Ladies and gentlemen, your producer, Mr. Cecil B. DeMille. Greetings from Hollywood, ladies and gentlemen.
Brave men going down to the sea in ships have written a glorious history for the United States Navy. Over the years they brought new honor to the great names of John Paul Jones, Stephen DeKynne, cater, Oliver H. Perry and Admiral George Dewey. In ships of wood and ships of iron, under sail and steam, they have served notice to the world that this land must be respected.
Today that tradition lives on in ships of steel, that guard the ramparts of the sea, and in ships of silver, that guard the ramparts of the sky, our first line of defence. This new frontier of the air provides the background for tonight's exciting drama, Wings of the Navy, and we have the original stars of the Warner Brothers picture, George Brent, Olivia
to Havilland and John Payne. It's a saga of those men of destiny who do their daily work at two, three, four hundred miles an hour. We throw the spotlight on two of these men. Two brothers, played tonight by George Brent and John Payne.
They're both dead devils and they're both in love with the same girl, which won't be hard to understand because the girl is played by Olivia de Havilland. I think it's fitting that a story like this should be brought to you by a national theatre, and we are grateful to the millions of you who have made this a national theatre, by your
loyalty to the product behind it, Lux Toilets' Hope. We look to your letters for guidance in producing these plays. Your comments make pleasant reading for us, not only in what you say about our plays, but what you tell us about Lux Toiletsop.
