What, hey, son? Hollywood. The much radio theatre brings you Fibemagie and Molly in Mama Love Papa. Ladies and gentlemen, your producer, Mr. Cecil B. Demille. Greetings from Hollywood, ladies and gentlemen.
Certain elements just naturally belong together. April and showers, corned beef and cabbage, Fibemagie and Molly. For several years, the irresistible Mr. McGee and the immovable Molly had been helping make this a more cheerful world, and their weekly broadcast has become a national habit. Tonight for the first time they assumed the mantle and
buckskin of the actor in the jitter-ma drama, more or less the jitter-ma, and star for us in the play Mama Love Papa. The combination of Sibba McGee and Molly and the Lux Radio Theater is a brand new one, but as natural as a team of luck, toilet soap, and a lovely lady.
Sibba and Molly are a standard entertainment, for whatever there's a radio in a living room. Luck, toilet soap is a standard for whatever women are interested in how they look, and that, well, covers a lot of grounds.
The chief problem we faced in arranging this production was the fleeting sibba that he was an actor. After a long argument in my office, I finally had to threaten to play the part myself, for the public say he gave in. And after a week's rehearsal I can really salute Sibber and Molly as two great troopers who deserve the stars on their dressing
room doors. There's something genuinely American about their humor, something in the grand old tradition of Mark Twain, and all those who who taught us how to laugh at ourselves. Mama Lev's Papa takes Sibber and Molly as a new character, when Sibber, as Wilbert Todd quite accidentally, gets involved in as Mrs. Todd, Molly is still his chief counselor and does our part to get him out of trouble
