Trade wins is a drama of love and flight, of a wealthy society girl wanted by the police, and of a young detective who tracks her halfway around the world. It's the drama of a man and woman who are meant for each other to find themselves enemies on opposite sides of the law.

Earl Flynn is our globe-crotting detective, Sam Y. And the object of his globe-crotting is Joan Bennett, who plays Kate Kerrigan, the same part she had in Walter Wanger's motion picture production of Fred Wins. Mary Astor is Jean, a secretary who has nearly as much trouble keeping up with the detective as he has catching up with a girl he's trying to arrest.
