In the territory on West, there is just one way to handle the killers and the spoilers, and that's where the U.S. Marshall and the smell of guns smoke. During William Conrad, the story of the violent that moved West with young America, and the story of a man who moved with it.

I'm that man, Matt Dillon, United States Marshall, the first man they looked for and the last they want to meet. It's a chancey job, and it makes a man watchful. Geeze to home, aren't you, wouldn't we?

Good morning, glad I still have a good piece of land. Are you fondant? It's been fairly this morning, my, sure.

Might be at Relishton Coffee. Oh, thanks, my. First thing Jim always wants when he's been out in the weather all day is a good hot cup of coffee. I'm hardly safe to words before he gets it.

Nobody wouldn't just hurt him. Jim is like that. For three days and nights, my mouth kept saying he's alive someplace. But my inside's no different. I knowed right along he was dead. Jim and me was at close.

He layin' off in the night somewhere, Marshall. God, I heard it growin' inside of it about a minute. Earth folks in a ground like the Earth shrink down the land.

Marshall didn't die by no accident. He was done for in cold neighbor fellow over there west, covered farmland. Burlach, Rick and he covets me too the way he acted. Took to call me Harriet a while back and said, Jim and me was at close.

Strike barrel out and would like him for what he done. Or maybe he will. I hope so. I don't rightly know Marshall. Not for a think on it. I'll lay down and think. Listen. Long time maybe.
