The Golden Gate Quartet Sings 066

I hear those echoes calling. I hear those golden voices. Me at the Golden Gate. Beat me where the promise of a better life is fulfilled, where you can find the philosophy of faith, hope and charity expressed in song.

He was out of the Bible, out of the experiences of humanity that the spirituals came, and these spirituals are the songs of the Golden Gate Quartet. SINGING ME! Down in the valley to pray, when I got there, O Satan was there, so I fell down on my knees and I moaned and prayed all the day, and my Jesus came in the evening and took my sins

away. Yes, I've moaned in the valley I mourn all the evening, I mourn all the day, but my Jesus came in the evening, and he took my sins.

Well, I prayed in the valley, didn't I pray? Well, I prayed in the valley, didn't I pray? Well I prayed in the valley, didn't I pray, I prayed in the valley, didn't I pray, I prayed in the valley, didn't I pray, good Lord, didn't I pray, I prayed all the day, but my Jesus came in the evening

And He took my sins away, I prayed in the valley. I prayed in the valley, didn't I pray? I prayed in the valley, didn't I pray? Good Lord, didn't I pray? In the valley, Jesus, my sins in the same.

I sing, Lord, I sing all the day, but my Jesus, my sins away, We are denied.

Give me of that land above that flows with milk and honey. Yes, that heavenly land. I hope to make it there so I can mingle with the angels around the great white throne. There are so many heading for that downward road.
