Dennis's Room Rent is Due ( )

The Dennis Day show with Barbara Eiler, B. Benadera, Dink Straub, Charles Sant, and the orchestra, and yours truly, Burns Smith, is written by Frank Galen, and stars our popular young singer in A Day in the Life of Dennis Day.

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Hello, other folks! Can anybody see me? Their winter's day, a poor, homeless young man called Dennis Day,

chanced upon a kind lady named Mrs. Anderson. Seeing that he was cold and hungry and lonely and was willing to pay seven dollars a week room rent, she allowed him to lodge in her attic, and the young man was very happy.

For whereas he had once been cold and hungry and lonely, he was now only cold and hungry. But Mrs. Anderson is not a patient woman, and lately the young man has dropped three weeks behind in his room ramp, which is why he wears his worried look today, as he discusses things with his girlfriend Mildred.

Oh, gosh, Mildred, what do I do? Can you imagine what'll happen when I tell her I can't pay my room rent again this week? Oh, golly, well, can't you make up some kind of an excuse for not having the money?

Yeah, but why? The first week I told her my grandma was sick and I spent the money on the rent on medicine. The next week I said grandma had to be operated on, I spent the rent for the operation.

Third week I said grandma died and I spent it on the funeral. I've gone about as far as I can with grandma. Yes, I guess we have. This time I'm really scared to face a miller.
