I can remember so well walking into that stadium and hearing voices that I recognised calling my name so emotional. Emotional now talking about it. Got my blocks in, got them all set, had a few practice starts.

And then I noticed that my blocks weren't quite set right and it could have slipped as I took off. And even in the anxiety of the moment I noticed that and I was able to set it right again.

And I see the film time and time again and I can't believe I ran out of my skin. I had a very short stride and people used to say to me, why don't you lengthen it? And I tried for 18 years but it never, it never grew.

But I just pumped my arms so hard and ran down that. And of course Heidi pulled away from me because she was a natural sprinter. But I knew that I had to stay as close to her as I possibly could.

and I strove right to the line. And then we had all the anxious wait to see if she had done enough to overtake me. And I do honestly think I had a broken my heart if I hadn't got the gold.

So we saw Heidi's time go up and it was something like 22.8. Oh God, I can't have done enough. And suddenly Heidi tapped me on the shoulder and shook my hand and I knew that I had one.

I ran 24.08 which was faster than I had ever ran before and I won by 10 points out of 481. I mean all I wanted to do was win. It didn't matter about what margin as long as I won.
