Oh, again, now that you've expressed a wish, or are at least kindly willing to hear more of Adventures by Morse, let's take a whirl at the last half or so of the second continued story in the series. This one is called Coughton for the Lady. The self-reliant daring Captain Friday and one of his men, Skip Ellis, find themselves on the beach of a small, uninhabited

island off the Pacific coast of Canada on a special assignment from U.S. military intelligence. They were waiting and hiding for the return of the Army representative when all at once a soldier comes staggering down the trail carrying a bound blindfolded and gagged girl in his arms.

And just before the poor fellow dies from a knife wound in his back, he gasps out and talks much. He gets a good boy to Fort Lancer. Major Lawrence is dead. There isn't much time to decide what to do, for they hear rifle fire not far away and realize with the start that it's intended for them. With considerable haste, as you may well imagine,

they load themselves and the girl into their boat, start the motor. When they are out of rifle range, the captain and skip on Tythe girl's bonds, take off her blindfold, release the gag, and find to their pleased astonishment that she's a beautiful girl. The heroines are always beautiful in her car and more story. He likes them that way.

Well, the girl, Judith Wright by name, thanks her rescuers, and wants to know what they're going to do with her. They tell her of the soldier's instructions to take her to Fort Lancer. So Captain Friday and Skip cruise to the mainland where they have tied up their three horses.
