What happens

Bud Abbott and Lou Costello take jobs as waiters at Melonhead's restaurant, where their clumsy work quickly causes trouble. Costello spills soup, cooks eggs in a banjo, and mishandles orders, while Abbott tries to teach him how to serve customers properly. The restaurant's owner, Mr. Melonhead, grows increasingly unhappy with their work. Mrs. Niles, a regular customer, sends in a large order for a party, and the two men struggle with the French menu and the arrival of her staff. This episode of the Abbott and Costello series first aired on January 24, 1946, on NBC and ABC. Connie Haines and Joe Kirk appear in the cast with the leads.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
