What happens

Costello, a bumbling bank customer, tells Abbott that he witnessed the robbery of the Second National Bank, and the two set out to identify the bandits and collect a thousand dollar reward. Costello, who was present at a bizarre tea party inside the bank, has a faulty memory of the men involved, and Abbott struggles to keep him focused. Their search takes them to the police station, where a detective called Final Pants is in charge, and then into Chinatown in pursuit of the bandit known as Rocky Crumb Cake. The series, Abbott and Costello, first aired on NBC and ABC on November 30, 1944, with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello in the leading roles, alongside Connie Haines.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
