What happens
Abbott and Costello are preparing for their radio broadcast when their script goes missing. Costello, who has been appointed to collect waste paper for a national drive, is blamed for the mix-up, and the two set out to find it. Their search takes them through the neighborhood, where they meet Dagwood and Blondie, who have been collecting scrap with them. The series is Abbott and Costello, first aired on NBC and ABC on March 9, 1944, with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello in the leading roles. The transcript ends with the two still hunting for the missing pages, so the outcome of the search is not included here.
Sherman Oaks, a town during a national waste paper drive, and the NBC radio studio
Characters: Bud Abbott, Costello, Ken Niles, Dagwood, Blondie, Mrs. Niles, Alexander
Listen for: The running argument over who misplaced the script, and the jokes Abbott and Costello trade while searching the neighborhood
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
