What happens
Lou Costello is a naive, excitable man who decides to buy an apartment house, and Bud Abbott plays his wiser, more sceptical friend. Costello's plan to become a landlord quickly runs into trouble as he tries to handle tenants and make rent collection work. Susan Miller, a singer and boarder, figures in the comedy, and Costello's infatuation with her shapes some of the scenes. The episode comes from the Abbott and Costello series, which aired on NBC and ABC; this broadcast is dated January 14, 1948, and features Bud Abbott, Joe Kirk, Elvia Allman and Connie Haines. The comedy relies on rapid-fire exchanges, misunderstood words, and the duo's familiar routines with their relatives and neighbours.

Listen for: Costello's attempts to manage his new apartment house and the escalating confusion with his tenants
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
