What happens

Abbott and Costello presents a comedy in which Abbott persuades Costello to invest his seventy-five dollars in a gold mine. Costello is skeptical, and the two argue over how gold is found, with Abbott insisting it is smelted from ore and Costello fumbling the terms. The pair set out across the desert toward the Little Pepper Mine in Goldtooth, Nevada, where they meet a strange lifeguard, an Indian blanket seller, and a saloon run by a colorful hostess. The Abbott and Costello series aired on NBC and ABC, and this episode is dated October 12, 1944, with Bud Abbott and Lou Costello in the leading roles, joined by Connie Haines and Freddie Rich's orchestra.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
