What happens
Bud Abbott and Lou Costello return to Hollywood after a summer on Costello's uncle's farm, where Costello's muddled talk about sowing seed and eating tomatoes leaves Abbott exasperated. Costello has earned $75 from the farm, and Abbott proposes investing it in whatever people will want after the war. Their door-to-door canvassing goes badly, with an irritable welder, a stranger's blunt refusals, and a clothing dealer named Kitzel who offers Costello a junior partnership. That night Abbott persuades Costello to put his money into war bonds, which he expects to be worth more in ten years. The story then jumps forward to 1954, when the bonds have matured.

Characters: Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Kitzel, Kewpie, Ken Niles
Listen for: Costello's confused talk about sowing and reaping seed, and the door-to-door canvassing scenes
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
