What happens
Bud Abbott and Lou Costello host a Saturday children's show, the Abbott and Costello Kid Show, on NBC and ABC in 1948. Their guest is singer Larry Stevens, who trades jokes with Costello and performs a song. The program then turns to contests and prizes for children, including a bubble gum blowing contest and a question about cleaning teeth. A segment honors Jane Hatton, a fifteen-year-old school safety patrol member, and the episode closes with the awarding of the Lou Costello Junior Youth Foundation Award.

Characters: Bud Abbott, Lou Costello, Larry Stevens, Jane Hatton, Johnny
Listen for: Listen for Costello's jokes with guest Larry Stevens, the children's contests, and the story of Jane Hatton's rescue of a schoolmate.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
