What happens
Lou Costello arrives late and battered after a car crash, and Bud Abbott teases him about his date and his poor driving. Abbott then tries to tell Costello a bedtime version of Aladdin, and the two trade jokes and argue over the story's details. Their routine turns to a scheme to make ten thousand dollars by sending Costello up in a rocket to the moon, which Costello flatly refuses to board. Connie Haines and Elvia Allman are heard in the cast, and the program is part of Abbott and Costello's regular NBC and ABC run in 1946.
A radio studio comedy sketch with a Hollywood-style car accident, a bedtime story, and a professor's rocket laboratory.
Characters: Lou Costello, Bud Abbott, Elvia Allman, Connie Haines
Listen for: Costello's refusal to climb into the rocket, and Abbott's badgering to make him do it.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
