What happens
Wayne Crowder, a wealthy industrialist, decides to build a spaceship despite having no means of propulsion. He hires engineers, fires a dissenting man named Phillips, and publicly offers a reward for a motor. After a failed test and a lengthy wait, a small man named Wilkins arrives claiming he can power the ship using electromagnetism and counter-gravity. Crowder agrees to back him, and the story follows the spaceship's construction and first flight. The episode is part of the X Minus One series and aired on November 30, 1955; the lead cast included Joe DeSantis and Guy Sorrell.
A modern industrial city and Crowder's corporate headquarters, followed by a spaceship test site.

Listen for: Crowder's decision to build a spaceship and Wilkins's arrival with his unusual proposal.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
