What happens
Three astronauts, Captain Baird, Hernandez and a narrator, become the first humans to land on the Moon. Wandering near the crater Plato, they find a water table and, later, the narrator discovers a site where something landed without rocket marks, followed by a carved stone bearing a strange cold white light. The narrator recognizes that light from somewhere before. The story is part of the X Minus One radio series, first broadcast on NBC on October 24, 1957, adapted from the story by Poul Anderson. The cast includes Carl Weber, David Kerman and Bob Hastings.
The Moon, near the lunar Alps and the crater Plato, and a spacecraft in orbit around Earth; the narrative also refers to Earth and Mars.

Listen for: The description of the strange, cold white light on the Moon and the narrator's sudden recognition of it.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
