What happens

Donner, plant manager of an electronics firm in Utah, recounts how Simon Kane, who claims to hold the Poseidon tablets, came to him with plans for a solar energy converter. Donner and his engineers build the device and mount it on a surplus one-man rocket, and Porter Hayes agrees to pilot the craft. Donner, speaking to the board of directors, explains his conduct as he pushes the project forward despite irregular approvals. The story is told in a radio drama adapted from Vaughn Shelton's Galaxy Science Fiction story, aired on X Minus One on October 17, 1957. Dean Lyman-Ahlquist plays Mr. Donner and Ilya Braka plays Mrs. Kane.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
