What happens

Mike McDonald and Charlie Beagle, two swindlers stranded on Mars, look for a victim to bankroll their escape. They find Henry Mortensen, a geologist with the Interplanetary Mining Company, and learn that the 20,000 Earthmen at the desert mining camp have no women. The pair sell marriage contracts through a poster featuring a Hollywood starlet, collecting deposits from lonely miners who expect glamorous brides. As the bogus applications pile up and the miners grow suspicious, the partners must find a way out. The story is part of the X Minus One series, which first aired on January 16, 1957, on NBC.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
