What happens
Jason Bernaietes, a lonely newspaper reporter, rescues a young woman named Janet Boyce from the surf on a moonlit beach. Five years earlier, Janet claimed a golden flying saucer spoke to her in a city park, and she was jailed after refusing to reveal its message to government security officials and a senator. Jason, who once covered her story, recalls how authorities pressured her and how the press turned her into a sensation. Later he is drawn into her world and into the mysterious bottle messages she has been casting into the sea. This is an episode of the radio series X Minus One, first broadcast on January 9, 1957, adapted from a Theodore Sturgeon story.

Listen for: The saucer's message to Janet and the bottle messages she sends into the sea.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
