What happens

In February 1943, British intelligence officers Lieutenant Maurice Withering and Captain Amos Mackenzie, serving under Colonel Sir Harold Boswick, devise a deception to draw German scientists away from rocket research. Inspired by a science fiction magazine, they invent a fictional weapon called the Projector and recruit American writer Jacob Herman to help make its plans convincing. The plan is set in motion through a planted leak meant to reach German agents. The story is presented as an X Minus One radio drama, first broadcast June 19, 1956, on NBC in cooperation with Galaxy Science Fiction.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
