What happens
A young hitchhiker named Abigail Jenkins, known as Abby, is picked up by Matthew Wright, a graduate student researching the Salem witch trials for his thesis. Abby tells him she has been beaten by her stepfather and that she has been blamed for a series of accidents to the young men she has courted. Wright takes her to a rented cabin in the Ozarks, where strange events start to occur around her. The story is part of the X Minus One radio series, which aired on NBC on June 26, 1956, and is adapted from James E. Gunn's story.

Characters: Matthew Wright, Abigail Jenkins, Paul Jenkins
Listen for: Pay attention to how Abby's unusual abilities develop and how Wright reacts to them.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
