What happens
Twenty years after the Earth Wars stranded survivors on Mars, a new ship lands on Earth carrying Captain John Parsons, Dr. Evans and Mr. Williams. They find a city still lit and a household waiting for them: the aging brain surgeon Cornelius Hathaway, his wife Alice, and their children Susan, Marguerite and John, who seem strangely young. The captain begins to feel that something is not as it appears, and the visitors start to question what they are seeing in the house. This recap covers only the early part of the episode.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
