What happens
Paul and Sandra Whitney attend an art auction at the London home of Jim Danvers, where a painting of the 15th-century cutthroat Richards catches their attention. Paul believes he has seen the man alive in London, and Jim warns them that the old Richards house on Orchard Street is haunted. The couple decide to stay there overnight, where they encounter the housekeeper, Mrs. Browning, who insists the house is occupied by those waiting to take her life. Strange footprints, slamming doors and cold drafts follow, and the couple find themselves caught up in events that Paul begins to investigate.

Listen for: Paul's theory about the house being controlled by a living mind, and the eerie voice of Richards
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
