What happens

Vic Gook is offered the chance to appear in a composite photograph with R.J. Konk, the founder of a lodge, sent by headquarters in Chicago for a fee. Vic likes the idea of hanging the picture in his office or living room, while his wife Sade and son Rush question whether a doctored photograph is honest. Vic explains the process, and the family debates the fee, the cost of the photograph and the odd mix of people the pictures might include. Meanwhile Rush reads aloud from an adventure serial about Lieutenant Clinton Stanley and his battles with South American natives. The Gooks settle in for a quiet evening at home in a small house. This Vic and Sade episode, from the NBC/CBS/Mutual radio series starring Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson, dates from 1940, though the exact date is not given.

The Gooks' small house halfway up the next block, on an evening at home.

Characters: Vic Gook, Sade Gook, Rush Gook, R.J. Konk, Lieutenant Clinton Stanley, Lady Margaret

Listen for: Vic's enthusiasm for the composite photograph and Sade's dry responses to his plans.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
