What happens

Vic and Sade is a daytime serial about a small-town family. In this episode, Sade's friend Mildred Tizzle has organized a women's auxiliary for the Sacred Stars of the Milky Way, and Vic is unhappy that Sade will not join. The argument turns to the parade and riding down Washington Street on a white horse. Sade's brother-in-law Orville, meanwhile, asks Vic's permission to help Mr. Corkle, a musician, get into the sewage disposal workers' silver cornet band. Uncle Fletcher and Roy Dejectedly also arrive with news of a business interest, and Sade's family argues over whether banjos belong in brass bands. The story is told mostly through household conversation and interruptions. Original air date 1946-07-04. Starring Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
