What happens

Uncle Fletcher arrives at the Gale family home in a state of alarm, explaining that something dreadful has happened. He has learned that his landlady, Miss Keller, plans to spend the winter visiting her brother in Ohio and intends to arrange his meals with neighbors while she is away. Vic and Sade and their household try to make sense of his disjointed account. Meanwhile, the neighbors have been seen hurrying between houses with borrowed kitchen items, and Mr. Rush and Orville Gantry offer their own theories about the strange excitement on the block. The story is part of the Vic and Sade series, first broadcast on 1946-09-19, with Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
