What happens
Vic and Sade, a couple in a small house halfway up the next block, are caught off guard when a postcard announces an unexpected visit from Herb and Kissy Lunge that evening. Sade orders a flurry of cleaning, with Vic and their son Russell pressed into scrubbing floors, polishing furniture and sweeping porches. Vic protests that he barely knows the couple, and the household argues over the timing of their arrival, since the postcard was written the day before. Russell, meanwhile, complains about having a date at the bijou and about the whole fuss over the visitors. The scene closes with the family still arguing over the chores and the approaching guests.

Characters: Vic Goode, Sade Goode, Russell Goode, Herb Lunge, Kissy Lunge
Listen for: Sade's sudden orders to scrub, sweep and polish before the Lunges arrive, and Vic's protests about the couple he barely knows.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
