What happens

Rush Gook arrives at the Bradley back porch and finds Sadie's cousin Rush sitting beside a large box of mementos and souvenirs he has brought from Dixon. Rush wants to store the box in the house, but the conversation keeps wandering through a painted picture, an odd metal object left by the late inventor Archie Williamson, a heavy rock from the Fox River, and a shoe-store souvenir from Boone, Iowa. Each item sparks a rambling anecdote, and the two men debate whether there is any room in the house for the box.

The back porch of the Bradley house in the late afternoon, with a vacant lot and alley nearby.

Characters: Rush Gook, Rush

Listen for: Rush's long anecdotes about each souvenir, and the repeated question of where the box can be stored.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
