What happens
In the Goode family living room one evening, Vic and Sade play a dull game of rummy while their son Russell argues with his friend Hiney Call. Russell insists he has owned at least sixty pairs of pants over his life, and Hiney has disputed it. Russell asks his parents to sign a document backing his claim, while Vic and Sade keep distracted by their cards and by Miss Aperot's remark about Ruthie. The conversation turns to pants of every kind and to Russell's childhood velvet suit.
The Goode family living room in a small house in the early evening
Characters: Vic Goode, Sade Goode, Russell Goode, Hiney Call, Ruthie, Miss Aperot
Listen for: Russell's counting of his pants and the family's playful squabbling over the rummy game
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
