What happens
Willie Rush learns that his mother plans to take him downtown to buy his school clothes, and he is mortified at the idea of being seen shopping with her. Hearing that his rival Nicer Scott will be shopping alone that afternoon makes Willie even more embarrassed. Willie pleads with his mother to postpone the trip, but she insists that the sales make today the best day to go. As the plans multiply and the cast of helpers grows, Willie grows increasingly anxious about the afternoon ahead. The Vic and Sade series, from the original broadcast of August 24, 1942, features Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson in the lead roles.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
