What happens

Victor Gook and his son Rush arrive home from the office and find Sade fuming about her brother-in-law Fred Stembottom. Fred has phoned to say that he and Ruthie will exchange automobile tires for Christmas, and that he has already arranged for the foundry and his brother in Oklahoma to give tires as well. Sade is annoyed that Fred has planned this without telling Ruthie, and she complains that he is bossy and tiresome. She feels unable to talk back to him. The family discusses the cost of tires and the plan's practical sense, and Sade's frustration grows as the afternoon goes on.

The living room of the small house halfway up the next block, in the late afternoon after the men arrive home from the office.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
