What happens
Vic Gook and his uncle Fletcher Rush are gathered in the kitchen of the small house when Rush, the family's young son, comes in from the YMCA. Uncle Fletcher talks about an old family inventor, Art Gummer, whose free-stretcher idea never made a dime. Later, Vic questions Rush about two alarm clocks, and Rush admits he has been trying to fix the family's clocks and may have broken them. Vic offers to help him, and the two men begin discussing a plausible story to tell Vic's wife. The scene is a light family comedy of the Vic and Sade series, first broadcast on October 31, 1941.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
