What happens

Vic and Sade is an old radio serial, first broadcast on March 18, 1943, and here the Gruen household is in its living room late one afternoon. Vic has just come home from the office, and Sade is visibly upset. She describes how Mrs. Applerot, a woman she had met that day, snubbed her friend Dottie Bringsable. Sade recounts the encounter in detail, including the remarks about Dottie's weight and loud laugh, and her own embarrassment and anger. Vic tries to calm her while Sade rereads a letter from her sister Mae about family news. Lead actors are Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson.

Characters: Vic Gruen, Sade Gruen, Dottie Bringsable, Mrs. Applerot

Listen for: Sade's account of the meeting with Mrs. Applerot and her reaction to it.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
