What happens
Vic and Sade, a late-afternoon episode of the radio serial, opens with Vic and her son Rush in the living room of their small house. Vic has found a letter from Aunt Bess, postmarked August 1937, hidden unopened in a pocket of Vic's plaid suit. Vic admits she forgot it there, and the family reads it aloud, from Bess's account of the Carberry weather and neighbors to news of Rush's and Ed's activities. The original air date is December 23, 1940, and the leads are Bernardine Flynn and Bill Idelson.
The small house halfway up the block, late afternoon, the living room.
Characters: Vic, Sade, Rush, Aunt Bess
Listen for: Vic realizing she has found Aunt Bess's letter from 1937 hidden in her plaid suit pocket, and the family reading it aloud.
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
